Roadinfo Camera Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

1. Nature of the service and accuracy of information

1.1. Roadinfo Camera is an informational tool that enables users to capture photos and videos and add road and location information to them, such as the road name, road number, kilometre marker, coordinates, date, and time.

1.2. The accuracy of the information displayed depends, among other things, on the accuracy of the device’s positioning and the quality of the source data used in the Application.

1.3. The road information displayed in the Application comes from public data sources and registers.

1.4. The road and location information displayed is informational and may contain inaccuracies. ARTTIM OÜ does not guarantee the complete accuracy of the source data or the results calculated by the Application.

1.5. The Application is not intended for land surveying, geodetic work, or other precision measurements and does not replace official surveying methods or certified measuring instruments.

2. User-created content and responsibility

2.1. ARTTIM OÜ does not acquire rights to photos or videos taken by the user with the Application.

2.2. The user or another relevant entitled person is responsible for the content, storage, use, and sharing of photos and videos created with the Application.

2.3. The user must ensure that the use of the Application and materials created or shared using it do not infringe third-party rights or applicable legislation.

2.4. A possible error in road or location information can be reported using the contact details in this document. A report helps determine whether the problem arises from the operation of the Application or the source data used.

3. Paid features and Google Play subscriptions

3.1. The Application includes free features and may offer additional paid features.

3.2. Monthly subscriptions to the Application purchased through Google Play are managed through Google Play Billing. The user’s payment card number and full payment details are not transmitted to ARTTIM OÜ. The Application does not require the creation of an ARTTIM OÜ user account, and ARTTIM OÜ does not maintain a separate register identifying the Application’s subscribers by name. Google Play may make limited data necessary for the operation and management of a subscription available to the Application or ARTTIM OÜ, such as the purchased product, subscription status, purchase token, or subscription number. It may also be possible to use the buyer’s Google Account email address in Play Console to manage a subscription.

3.3. The following monthly subscriptions may be available in the Application.

Ad-free subscription

The ad-free subscription may:

• remove mandatory third-party pop-up and banner advertisements;
• remove the Application’s standard watermarks from photos and videos;
• enable offline use of the data required to display road information to the extent supported by the Application.

Text formatting subscription

The text formatting subscription includes the functionality of the ad-free subscription and enables users to customise the appearance of information added to media, including text size and colour, background style and colour, transparency, and other visual parameters offered in the Application.

Video subscription

The video subscription includes the functionality of the ad-free and text formatting subscriptions and enables users to record videos with road and location information.

3.4. A paid Google Play subscription may not remove partner logos integrated into the Application or advertisements voluntarily selected by the user or other elements used to obtain bonuses, if the Application offers them.

3.5. The relevant Google Play terms also apply to the management, payment, cancellation, and refunding of Google Play subscriptions.

4. Data controller and scope

4.1. The controller of the data processing described in this Privacy Policy is:

4.2. This Privacy Policy covers the ordinary use of the Application, the Google services used in the Application, communication with ARTTIM OÜ, and use of the Roadinfo Camera website.

5. Data minimisation and local storage

5.1. The development of Roadinfo Camera follows the principle of data minimisation.

5.2. During ordinary use of the Application, the following are not transmitted to ARTTIM OÜ’s servers:

• photos taken with the Application;
• videos recorded with the Application;
• the content of photos or videos;
• the user’s location history;
• GPS location collected with the Application.

5.3. Photos and videos created with the Application, along with coordinates, road information, and other information selected by the user and added to them, are saved on the user’s device.

5.4. During ordinary use of the Application, ARTTIM OÜ has no access to the user’s photos, videos, media library on the device, or location history associated with the Application.

5.5. The user is responsible for storing, backing up, using, and sharing files saved on their device.

6. Device permissions

The Application may request the following device permissions to the extent necessary to use the corresponding feature.

Location

Location permission is used to determine the device’s location, find road information, and, at the user’s choice, add coordinates or other location information to a photo or video.

ARTTIM OÜ does not collect the user’s location history on its server through this feature.

Camera

Camera permission is required to capture photos and videos.

Storage and media files

The relevant permissions may be necessary to save photos and videos on the user’s device, depending on the Android version and device settings.

7. Google services and internet connectivity checks

7.1. The Application uses Google AdMob to display advertisements and Google Play Billing to manage paid in-app subscriptions.

7.2. The Application uses the Google User Messaging Platform to manage advertising consents and privacy choices applicable to the user.

7.3. Google services may process technical data, such as:

• IP addresses;
• identifiers associated with the device or advertising;
• technical information about the application and device;
• data on the display of advertisements and interaction with them;
• consent and privacy choices;
• other information necessary for the operation and security of the services.

7.4. Where required by applicable law, advertising-related consent is requested and privacy choices are presented through Google’s consent management solution. The user can reopen the privacy choices available to them in the Application.

7.5. The Application may make a brief technical request to a Google web service to check whether an internet connection is available. During such a request, Google may process technical connection data, including the IP address and time of the request. The Application does not include the user’s photos, videos, GPS location, or other data created with the Application in this request.

7.6. Data processing through Google services takes place in accordance with Google’s terms and privacy principles. ARTTIM OÜ does not have complete control over the technical data processed by Google’s software components.

7.7. When a purchase is made through Google Play, the user’s payment card number and full payment details are not transmitted to ARTTIM OÜ. Google Play may transmit data necessary to manage a purchase to the Application or make it available in Play Console, such as the purchased product, purchase or subscription status, purchase token, subscription number, purchase time, and, in limited cases, the buyer’s Google Account email address. ARTTIM OÜ uses such data only to verify that the purchase works, manage a subscription or refund, provide user support, and fulfil applicable legal obligations.

7.8. ARTTIM OÜ does not maintain a separate register identifying Google Play subscribers by name and does not combine Google Play purchase data with photos, videos, or location data created with the Application.

7.9. The Application does not use an analytics or user-profiling system managed by ARTTIM OÜ.

8. Emails and support communication

8.1. If a user contacts ARTTIM OÜ by email, ARTTIM OÜ may process the sender’s name, email address, message content, and other information necessary to respond.

8.2. These data are used to respond to the enquiry, provide support, resolve technical problems, and, where necessary, establish or defend legal claims.

8.3. The processing of support communication is based on ARTTIM OÜ’s legitimate interest in responding to the user’s enquiry, providing support related to the Application, resolving technical problems, and, where necessary, establishing or defending legal claims. Where correspondence must be retained under legislation, processing may also be based on ARTTIM OÜ’s legal obligation.

8.4. Emails and related data are retained for as long as necessary to resolve the enquiry, handle legal claims, or comply with a statutory retention obligation.

9. Website technical data

9.1. The public Roadinfo Camera website does not require the creation of a user account and does not include an online payment solution or contact form.

9.2. When the website is opened, the web server, reverse proxy, or hosting provider may process limited technical data, such as the IP address, date and time of the request, web address opened, technical browser information, and result of the request.

9.3. These data are processed to deliver the website, ensure reliability, identify errors, limit request volume, and prevent misuse and security incidents.

9.4. The website does not use visitor analytics, advertising technology, or user profiling managed by ARTTIM OÜ.

9.5. If the web server, reverse proxy, or hosting infrastructure retains technical logs, their volume and retention period are limited through technical configuration. Logs are not used to profile visitors or for marketing analysis, and older entries are automatically overwritten or deleted as part of the system’s ordinary log management.

9.6. Selecting an email link opens the user’s own email application. An email is transmitted to ARTTIM OÜ only when the user sends it from their email application.

10. Service providers and data transfers

10.1. ARTTIM OÜ may use technical service providers to provide services, such as providers of web hosting, server infrastructure, and email services.

10.2. Data are provided to service providers only to the extent necessary to provide the relevant service.

10.3. If a service provider processes personal data outside the European Economic Area, data transfer safeguards meeting the requirements of applicable law are used.

11. Data retention

11.1. ARTTIM OÜ may retain support correspondence sent by the user, limited information necessary to manage a Google Play subscription, and web server technical logs only for as long as necessary to resolve the relevant enquiry, ensure the operation or security of the service, establish or defend legal claims, or fulfil a statutory obligation.

11.2. During ordinary use of the Application, ARTTIM OÜ does not retain the user’s photos, videos, GPS location, or location history.

11.3. The user determines how long photos and videos saved on their device with the Application are retained. ARTTIM OÜ does not manage or delete these files.

11.4. Google’s relevant retention policies apply to data processed through Google services.

12. Data-subject rights

12.1. If ARTTIM OÜ processes the user’s personal data, such as support correspondence sent by the user or limited information related to a Google Play subscription support case, the data subject has the right, subject to the conditions laid down in legislation, to:

• receive information about the processing of their personal data;
• request access to their personal data;
• require inaccurate data to be corrected;
• require data to be erased;
• require processing to be restricted;
• object to processing based on legitimate interest;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• exercise other rights arising from applicable law.

12.2. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

12.3. Rights relating to ARTTIM OÜ can be exercised by contacting roadinfocamera@gmail.com.

12.4. Rights relating to data processed by Google itself can also be exercised through the privacy choices and contact channels provided by Google.

12.5. The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate or the competent supervisory authority in their country of residence.

13. Children’s privacy

13.1. The Application is not directed at children under the age of 13.

13.2. ARTTIM OÜ does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.

13.3. If it becomes apparent that a child’s personal data have been mistakenly transmitted to ARTTIM OÜ, reasonable measures will be taken to erase them unless there is another legal basis for retaining them.

14. Changes to the Application and terms

14.1. The Application is continually developed and its functionality may change.

14.2. These terms apply to new features to the extent that no special terms are provided for the relevant feature.

14.3. If a new feature entails data processing that differs materially from that described in this Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy will be updated before or when the feature is introduced.

14.4. ARTTIM OÜ may amend the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, among other reasons, in connection with changes to the Application’s functionality, legislation, requirements of Google Play or other services used, data processing, or the technical solution.

14.5. The current version of the document is made available in the Application, the Google Play application listing, or the Roadinfo Camera website.

14.6. The effective date or date of the latest update is indicated at the beginning of the document.
